Forānea is a co-creation and conscious collaboration house between local artisans and indigenous Costa Rican communities.
Each piece is based on sustainability. A reflection of simplicity, freedom, and trust; redirection and orientation towards conscious consumption, in an era where qualified consumerism and disposable fashion have led us too far. We launch 20 to 80 pieces a year, where 99.9% of the production involves local Costa Rican families. A space where knowledge can flourish; a space of recognition.
I deeply believe that our culture deserves to be told from within, with dignity and in its own voice. Foránea is a space to amplify that voice—without editing it, without filtering it, without stealing it.
More than a brand, Forānea is: a space where each piece tells a story of origin and community—embracing our roots while paving the way for the recognition of our culture.

Forānea, involved a lot of time before its name even existed. Without realizing it, as I grew up and experienced life.
During my childhood, I remember moving very often to different places. Suddenly I was feeding cows in my backyard, while at other times, I was riding my bike to the sea. Always on the move.
I grew up, moving from the countryside to the city more than I ever imagined. In 2021, a year after the world turned 360 degrees due to the global pandemic, I began to explore around the coasts of Costa Rica: experiencing the flavors and lifestyle of each town; leading me to unique human beings, moments, and memories. I was a stranger in each of these towns.
Every experience during that year made me evolve in search of a simpler and more adventurous life. In 2022, out of my comfort zone, I moved from that small town in the city that had been my home for a long time, to the South Pacific of Costa Rica.
At that time, life aligned me with people in their search for a slower lifestyle—a simple, free, full way of life—exactly what my mother was doing when I was growing up; exactly what I was doing to find myself and find my way.
It is in this chapter of this season of my life, inspired by my own life, that I embarked on a new path towards creation and expansion; FORĀNEA being the result. The path to the materialization of that result also meant many moments alone in my 24sqm apartment. Where many times I asked myself, "Does this have a purpose beyond myself?". And to this day, I ask myself the same question every time I want to create something new.
Currently, FORĀNEA continues its journey in Nosara, Guanacaste. My last adopted destination to live, explore, and experience new paths, travels, and memories.
