I prioritize fair and honest treatment of the human beings involved in each production process + the environmental and social impact in my industry.
Forānea's purpose revolves around collaborating with local Costa Rican families, involving their labor within each process + supporting artisans in their labor of love.
Currently during the production season through Forānea, five different families are benefiting; including a family from the Costa Rican Boruca tribe.
Genuinely for me, slow, ethical and sustainable fashion looks beyond quality in textile terms.
Significantly for me this is my reason for being and creating.

MY JOURNEY TO GET HERE:
Foranea involves a time long before its very name existed. While growing up and experiencing life.
Throughout my childhood, I remember moving to different places. One moment I was feeding cows in my garden; other times I was riding my bike to the sea. Always in constant motion.
I grew up, moved from the countryside to the city. In 2021, without realizing it, one of the most rewarding seasons began: exploring the Costa Rican coasts: Puerto Viejo, Santa Teresa, Potrero, Santa Cruz, Cabuya, Montezuma... + experiencing the flavors, culture, traditions, and lifestyle in each town; guiding me to untold human beings, moments, and memories. I was a stranger in each of these towns. Each experience this year has made me evolve in search of a simpler and more adventurous life.
In 2022, I moved out of my comfort zone from that spot in the city that had been my home for so long to the Pacific coast of Costa Rica: Quepos, Manuel Antonio.
Right now, life is introducing me to admirable people who had decided to move from their country, leaving their family, friends, and comforts behind, seeking a slower pace of life—a simple, free, fulfilling way of life—just what my mother did when I was growing up; just what I did to find myself and my path.
It is in this chapter of this season of my life, inspired by my own life: moments, people, memories; my journey to find myself and the coastal lifestyle, that I embark on a new path toward creation and expansion; FORĀNEA is the result.
Currently, FORĀNEA continues its journey in Nosara, Guanacaste. My latest destination to live, explore, and experience new paths, journeys, and memories. Home to hundreds of foreign stories.
